VALENTINE PROJECT #6 COVERED CANDLES

Another Valentines Project......
Project #6 is a paper covered candle.
These glass encased candles are easily found at the dollar store.
Wrapped with vintage music paper (or any scrap booking paper) they make a
simple and inexpensive gift.
I did this project at Christmas and used all Christmas themed music paper.
For Valentines the paper I used is love themed.
These would be great for wedding decor as well.....the junkfest girls did
some up for a wedding and you can see theirs here.

VALENTINES PROJECT #5 SHABBY GARDEN GATE

It's time for......
another VALENTINES PROJECT!!!
Todays project is a piece of funky wall art......
I had this old garden gate which (for some reason) I absolutely love.  I added
some large wooden letters that I got here.
I painted the letters with Annie Sloan pure white which I got here, and
I haven't quite decided but I think I'll probably end up putting a fresh
coat on the gate as well as this may be just a bit "too shabby"
for my home.
Whatever the case I must say I do "LOVE" the way this turned out (mind you, if I didn't
love it you wouldn't be seeing pictures of it on my blog-LOL)
 You can see another project
I did very similiar to this one here.
 Happy day!

VALENTINES DAY PROJECT #4 U & ME BANNER

Having sooo much fun with these Valentines Day projects!
PROJECT #4 is.....a U & ME banner.
I used music sheets again for this project (they are cheap and VINTAGE so perfect
to use in projects!).
I searched "pennant template" on google and chose the shape I wanted for my banner then copied it
in to a word document,  printed it, cut it out and used it as my pattern.
Next, I cut 8 of the shapes from my music paper and 4 from cardboard..layer these so that there
is a cardboard in the middle which is covered back and front with your pretty
music paper..then glue them all together (a glue stick will work just fine).
Stencil your words, punch holes for your string to go through
and there you have it.....
EASY!!!
I'm head over heels in love with this vintage radio cabinet I picked up while out
thrifting......it has 3 coats of Annie Sloan Pure White that I got here..waiting
for some nicer weather to get it sanded and waxed.
The vintage gold leaf candle holders are absolutely to die for and were
found at a garage sale.
I also did a LOVE, NEST AND HOME banner in the same shapes.
Happy day....more Valentines Day projects to come (I think I have
about 14 in total!!!).

VALENTINE'S DAY PROJECT #3 LOVE CANVAS

So here's project #3.....
A covered canvas for Valentine's Day.
Supplies that are needed are:
1. A small canvas from the dollar store
2. A piece of vintage sheet music (or use a piece of scrapbooking paper)
3. Stencils and paint/ink
4. Decoupage medium and small paint brush

Cut your piece of paper to fit the canvas, brush decoupage medium on to your canvas...then glue your paper down and let dry.  Once dry if the paper overlaps the canvas take a nail file and
file the edge to create a smooth finished look.  Play around with stencils creating a
Valentine themed word and paint on.
My canvas is finished with the addition of some rolled paper roses.
Another fun, simple and inexpensive Valentine's Day project!

VALENTINE'S PROJECT #2

My Valentine's Day project #2 is.....CUPID'S ARROW!

Search your local thrift store (in the sporting goods section) for a
dartboard dart.  Use your dart to attach a love message to a bulletin board.
 Fun, inexpensive and whimsical!

Have a great day thrifting while out looking for your dart!

VALENTINE PROJECTS

I thought it would be fun to do a month of Valentine's Day
projects this year so over the next few weeks I will be
posting fun, simple and very inexpensive ideas for
Valentine's Day.....

My first project are these cute candle jars......
very inexpensive and requires only 4 supplies......
1. an old jar from the thrift store
2.  some vintage music paper
3.  twine
4.  glue
Simply cut a piece of vintage paper to wrap around your jar and cut two heart shapes (matching up one in the front and one in the back).....glue this sheet to your jar (any type of glue will do).  Wrap the top of your jar with some twine or ribbon and make some rolled paper roses (lots of tutorials all over blog land for these) to glue on for embellishment.
I added a bit of white sand to the bottom of my jar for a tea light to sit on.
So simple and inexpensive!

THE END OF THE GLITTER

FINALLY A POST.......
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

This is a final "glitter" post as everything is being packed up till next year!
Simple and very inexpensive ways to glam up a mantle for the holiday season...

I glittered an eiffel tower I cut out and made from gold paper (I like how you can see the bits of gold under the silver).
A collection of thrift store vases and candle holders that I glittered.
A banner I made from vintage music sheets.
A thrift store frame, mirror and balluster complete the look.
HAPPY 2013!!
